About Us

HOI Crappie Club started in 2011 by Tim Hanauer. Tim started the club to bring anglers together for a friendly fun competition.  

The club currently has over 50 members.  We fish lakes in central Illinois including, Lake Evergreen, Lake Decatur, Lake Shelbyville, Clinton Lake, Sangchris Lake, Dawson Lake and the Illinois River.  

Our tournaments are open to the public.  We have registration for each tournament from 5:30-6:30 am at the ramp the day of the tournament.  Each tournament has an assigned director that will register you for the tournament and go over the clubs rules and regulations.  Each tournament ends at 2:00 pm,  and all boats must be back at the ramp at 2:00 pm to qualify for the weigh in.  

Cost of membership is $20.  Member allows you to compete for a chance at fishing the classic and angler of the year.  

You must join the club by the cut off date for each tournament year to fish the classic.  The team that wins the HOI Classic receives a bid to fish the American Crappie Trail National Championship.
